A Boone County man who was arrested earlier this year on a charge of sexual indecency with a child involving a family member is now facing 15 counts of rape involving another family member. Being held in the Boone County Jail is 53-year-old Benjamin Douglas Woods of Omaha.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, during the investigation of the sexual indecency crime, detectives talked to other family members and learned Woods had sexually abused one other family member and physically abused another.

The female victim, who is an adult now, told investigators the sexual abuse started when she was three or four years old. She was 13-years-old when she was able to get away from him.

The male victim of the physical abuse, who is also an adult now, said he remembers it starting when he was about five-years-old and continuing until he was 18. He says there was a picture of him as a baby with bruises. He would go to school and change for ball practice with bruises half way up his back.

Woods is facing 15 counts of rape for the incidents involving the female victim. His bond for those charges is set at $50,000.

Woods is also ordered to have no contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18.

PREVIOUS ARREST

Woods was originally arrested in January after an 11-year-old family member told investigators Woods took him to a creek where he exposed himself and made an inappropriate bet while the two were skipping rocks.

His bond for the sexual indecency with a child charge is $10,000.
