
Several area high school basketball teams were in action Friday night in a slate of nonconference matchups across north central Arkansas.
At Flippin, the Lady Bobcats came up short against Jasper, falling 53-41. The Pirates controlled much of the game, holding off Flippin’s second-half push.
The Bobcat boys answered in the nightcap, pulling away for a 68-48 victory over Jasper.
In Lead Hill, the Lady Tigers protected their home court with a 43-37 win over Cotter.
Mountain View’s girls picked up one of the night’s tightest wins, edging Highland 45-42 on the road.
Melbourne’s boys also earned a road win, defeating Buffalo Island Central 56-34.
