
Central Arkansas locked up a first-round bye in the ASUN Tournament with a 79-62 victory over West Georgia on Saturday night at the Farris Center.
The Bears (17-10, 12-2 ASUN) controlled the game with 38 points in the paint and forced 14 turnovers while setting a new program record for conference wins as a Division I member. Central Arkansas led 44-35 at halftime and outscored the Wolves 35-27 in the second half to secure the decisive win.
Ty Robinson paced the Bears with 23 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season, hitting 5 of 6 shots from three-point range. Luke Moore added 21 points and five assists, including a dominant first half that helped Central Arkansas build its lead, while Javion Guy-King contributed nine points, three rebounds and two steals.
Central Arkansas built an early advantage behind strong shooting and balanced scoring, extending the margin to 30-17 midway through the first half. West Georgia (12-14, 6-8 ASUN) trimmed the deficit late in the half but never seriously threatened after the break.
The Bears will travel to DeLand, Florida, to face Stetson on Thursday, Feb. 19, with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
