A West Plains woman is facing felony drug charges after authorities say she was found with a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine concealed on her person following a traffic stop in Howell County.
According to a probable cause statement filed in Howell County Circuit Court, 41-year-old Bobbie Jean Fisher was arrested Thursday after officers assisted the Howell County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 60 involving a vehicle suspected of trafficking illegal narcotics.
Investigators reported that a hypodermic syringe was found in the vehicle, leading to Fisher’s arrest for concealing illegal narcotics on her person and possession of drug paraphernalia. After being transported to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, Fisher allegedly refused a body scan, prompting officers to obtain a secondary search warrant.
During the subsequent search, authorities said Fisher was found to be carrying a gallon-size plastic bag containing a white crystal substance, four additional black bags with a similar substance, and a hypodermic syringe with an unknown liquid. One of the bags field-tested positive for methamphetamine, with the total weight – including packaging – estimated at approximately 294.8 grams on uncertified scales.
Investigators stated that prior information indicated Fisher was returning to the West Plains area to distribute the drugs following a so-called “re-up trip,” a term used to describe replenishing supply for distribution.
Fisher is charged with first-degree drug trafficking involving 90 grams or more of a stimulant substance and possession of a controlled substance at a county jail.
Authorities also noted that Fisher was already awaiting adjudication in a separate 2025 second-degree trafficking case and described her as a potential danger to the community due to alleged ongoing distribution activities and efforts to evade law enforcement detection.
Bond is set at $250,000.
