Marion County man arrested for shooting at woman moving off his property

A Marion County man has been arrested for shooting at a woman who was moving off his property. Facing a felony charge of aggravated assault is 45-year-old Richard Aaron Gilbert of Flippin.According to the probable cause affidavit from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded after neighbors heard arguing followed by a gunshot.

The deputy spoke to the victim who said she and Gilbert had gotten into an argument as she was getting her belongings from the house. She said she had lived on the property for about one year.

She said she was about 50 feet from the house when Gilbert came out on the porch and fired a rifle at her head, narrowly missing. She said she could feel the wind from the bullet as it went past.

She said Gilbert got in his truck and left after that.

Gilbert called in the next day to say and told law enforcement he fired a shotgun in the air to try to scare the victim.

Gilbert is free from jail after posting $25,000 bond.
