Newton County woman facing charges for shooting at two men, including her husband

A Newton county woman is facing multiple charges for shooting at two men, one of them her husband, in December. Thirty-seven-year-old Cassandra Beth Bolin of Mount Judea is being held in the Newton County Jail on three felony charges.According to the recently released court documents, the incident happened Dec. 8 and Bolin was arrested Jan. 26.

The investigating deputy says the two men came to the Sheriff’s Office to report Bolin had shot at them while they were sitting in a truck belonging to a friend of the married couple two to three hours earlier.

The deputy noted there were two places where bullets struck the passenger side of the windshield and one place where a bullet hit the passenger side of the hood of the truck.

Further investigation revealed Bolin had received a ride to where the men were to get clothes from the friend. The person who gave her the ride said Bolin got into the truck, then got out, ran back to her car, got a pistol and started shooting, firing two or three shots. The woman told the deputy she was afraid Bolin had killed someone.

Bolin is charged with felony counts of criminal attempt to commit second degree murder, committing a terroristic act and criminal attempt to commit first degree battery. She also faces a penalty enhancement for using a firearm while committing a felony crime. Her bond is set at $500,000.
