Senior guard Chandler Jackson scored a game-high 31 points to lift Arkansas State past Louisiana — 17–11 overall and 8–7 in Sun Belt play — to a road victory Thursday night inside the Cajundome.

The win marks the first time the Red Wolves have earned back-to-back road victories against the Ragin’ Cajuns and ties the program record for road wins in a season. Arkansas State previously won eight road games in both the 1973-74 and 2024-25 seasons.

Jackson was dominant from the floor, shooting 13-of-16, including one three-pointer, and adding four free throws. He became the first opposing player to score 30 or more points in the Cajundome since February 2025. Jalen Hampton also finished in double figures with 12 points and pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.

As a team, Arkansas State shot 58.3 percent from the field (28-of-48), went 3-of-14 from three-point range and 20-of-28 from the free-throw line. The Red Wolves dominated the glass with a 47-26 rebounding advantage and outscored Louisiana 46-14 in the paint.

Louisiana jumped out to an early 20-9 lead, but Jackson sparked a 9-2 run to bring Arkansas State back into the game. After trading baskets late in the first half, the Red Wolves took their first lead at 32-30 and carried a 36-33 advantage into halftime behind Jackson’s 21 first-half points on 9-of-10 shooting.

The Ragin’ Cajuns briefly reclaimed the lead early in the second half, but Arkansas State responded with a decisive 13-2 run midway through the period to take control. The Red Wolves answered every push from Louisiana down the stretch and built a lead as large as 17 points in the closing minutes to secure the victory.

Arkansas State closes its Louisiana road trip Saturday afternoon with a matchup at ULM. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
