MH students take top honors at Regional Math Competition

Held at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA) in Hot Springs, the event brought together some of the brightest young minds in the state and saw Mountain Home students earning top honors in competition.

Mountain Home Junior High 8th grader Noah Hopper took home the top prize, placing first among all represented districts and securing first place in the overall 8th-grade category. Fellow 8th grader Taylor St. Clair placed second both among districts and in the overall 8th-grade category.

The 7th-grade team from Pinkston Middle School had a strong showing. Oakley Blagg and Carter Ezell tied for 3rd place among districts and tied for 2nd place overall in the 7th-grade category. Liam Bremer earned 3rd place in the overall 7th-grade category.

The AMC 8 is a national effort by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) to strengthen the capabilities of the next generation of innovators. By challenging students with complex problem-solving, the competition fosters a culture of lifelong mathematical exploration and achievement.
