Mountain Home Public Schools has a new tool in its safety arsenal, thanks to support from two local businesses.
Clay Maxey Chevrolet and Teamwork Roofing and Construction have partnered with the district to provide a dedicated Safety and Security vehicle for use by District Safety and Security Coordinator Eddie Helmert. Helmert uses the vehicle daily to travel between campuses, conducting door lock inspections, assessing facilities and grounds, maintaining the district’s badge-in ID system, overseeing safety drills, and providing additional security at district events.
Clay Maxey, who owns and operates both businesses, said his organizations are always looking for ways to support local schools.
“Student safety and the safety of our faculty is very important,” Maxey said. “Thank you to the entire district for the support you have shown our teams.”
District Superintendent Allyson Dewey said the partnership is another example of the community stepping up for students.
“Everyone’s top priority is keeping our kids and staff safe,” Dewey said. “This partnership helps us continue to provide a safe and supportive learning environment, which we know is an essential component of student academic success.”
