
Several Twin Lakes Area basketball teams are earning recognition across Arkansas as the postseason approaches, according to the latest Arkansas Sports Media high school polls.
On the girls side, Mountain Home leads the local contingent, checking in at No. 10 in the Overall Top 10 and No. 4 in Class 5A with a 21-6 record. In Class 3A, Mountain View is ranked No. 3 at 27-4, Bergman sits at No. 4 with a 30-9 mark, and Melbourne is tied for No. 5 at 26-5. Sloan-Hendrix is No. 3 in Class 2A at 28-3, while Viola rounds out the areas ranked teams at No. 5 in Class 1A. Norfork also received votes just outside the top five.
On the boys side, Flippin is ranked No. 4 in Class 3A with a 32-5 record, positioning the Bobcats as a serious contender heading into tournament play. Lead Hill is No. 3 in Class 1A at 30-5, continuing a strong season for the Tigers. Bergman and Melbourne also received votes in Class 3A.
Statewide, Marion tops the boys Overall poll, while North Little Rock holds the No. 1 spot in the girls rankings.
The polls reflect games played through Feb. 21 as teams prepare for conference tournaments and the push toward the state championships.
