Mountain Home NJROTC falls in national air rifle league match

Mountain Home NJROTC dropped a Week 4 matchup in the National Air Rifle New Shooter League, falling to Selma MCJROTC of California 967.7 to 941.9.

The loss moves Mountain Home to 2-2 on the season and places the team 22nd in the national standings as the 10-week season nears its midpoint. The league features three-position air rifle competition among first-year shooters from programs across the country.

Aldyn Buterbaugh turned in Mountain Home’s top individual performance with a score of 259.4. Bryan Williams, Kalem Warford, and Jaden Major also contributed to the team total.

Selma built its advantage throughout the match, leading after each stage – kneeling, prone, and standing – to secure its first victory of the season.

Mountain Home NJROTC will look to bounce back next week when the team faces South Lakes AJROTC, which also holds a 2-2 record.
