At least 34 homeowners in Northwest Arkansas are raising allegations against a Lowell-based landscaping contractor, claiming he took their money and left projects incomplete.

The group, organized by Leslie Ray, has been collecting documentation of alleged incomplete work and missed payments tied to Keeton Lofgren, who operated Precise Landscaping and More. Ray says she is sharing that documentation with the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office and local prosecutors.

The Better Business Bureau says it is currently reviewing Lofgren’s profile after receiving complaints.

“We have three customer reviews on file. Two are one star, basically saying that money was given for a project that was not completed,” said Cara Carlin, BBB Vice President of Communications.

Carlin says the business currently carries no rating while the review is underway, and that could change depending on the outcome. She says investigators look for patterns of negative reviews, unanswered complaints, and licensing issues.

The Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board says it has no record of Lofgren or Precise Landscaping and More in its system.

Subcontractor Robert Mahmens says a friend was burned after recommending Lofgren for a job, and he had his own issues after Lofgren paid for a chainsaw with a check drawn on a closed account.

“It really makes me angry because it hurts me. It makes them distrust me and others like me that will actually do a good job,” Mahmens said.

Lofgren declined an on-camera interview but said he tried to make things right and never intended to harm anyone. He added that he is no longer operating the business and says he will never do landscaping work again.

The BBB encourages homeowners to research contractors, verify licensing, and avoid paying in full upfront before work is completed.
