
The inspection was conducted Nov. 3, 2025, by the Arkansas Criminal Detention Facilities Review Committee. The review covered 86 standards in areas including administration, personnel, rules of conduct, record keeping, detainee rights, classification, security, medical and mental health care, food service, safety, and inmate programs.
According to the report, the detention center was found to be in full compliance with all 86 standards.
The facility has a housing capacity of 172 inmates. At the time of the inspection, 88 inmates were housed at the jail, with an average daily population of 90 inmates.
The report also noted that Baxter County invested approximately $140,000 in 2025 for routine maintenance, general updates and basic upgrades at the detention center. Inspectors found staffing levels to be adequate and employee files current and in order.
According to Sheriff John Montgomery the report has been filed with the County Clerks Office and is available for public inspection.
