The Bull Shoals City Council will hold its regular meeting Thursday at City Hall.

Among the more notable items on the agenda, the council will address IRS penalties totaling $4,323 issued for overdue payroll payments during the second and third quarters of 2025. According to the agenda, an anonymous citizen covered the cost of the penalties after the city was notified by the IRS, depositing the money directly into the payroll account.

The mayor is also scheduled to deliver a public apology to a local business owner.

On the public safety front, the council will discuss filling a police sergeant position, along with fire and public works staffing matters including a part-time public works director.

Ongoing business includes a meeting place rental agreement with First Baptist Church, the continued absence of new trash pickup contracts from either Methvin or MSI, and the second reading of Ordinance 2026-03 regarding golf carts on city streets.

Under new business, the council will consider four items: Ordinance 2026-04 amending a 2007 city code, a resolution appointing nominees to the Board of Zoning Adjustment, a resolution establishing a policy on the use of artificial intelligence by city officials and employees, and a resolution clarifying fees for yearly sign permits. The council will also consider approving a city welcome pack.

The meeting is open to the public.
