The Cotter City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday at 6:00 at Cotter City Hall.

The council has several significant items on the agenda. First, residents interested in filling the vacant Ward 2, Position 1 council seat will have the opportunity to address the council, with the installation and oath of office for the selected member also on the agenda. The council will also consider the mayor’s appointments to fill two vacancies on the Cotter Planning and Zoning Board.

On infrastructure, the mayor will present bid proposals received to paint the city’s water tanks. The council will then consider Resolution 2026-05, which would accept a bid and five-year maintenance plan from Viking Industrial Painting to paint both water storage tanks.

The council will also take up two resolutions related to special event alcohol sales, both involving Big Spring Park. Resolution 2026-06 would allow a one-time sale of craft beer and wine during the Cotter Trout Festival on May 2nd, and Resolution 2026-07 would allow the same for the FT3 Fly-fishing Film Tour special movie event on May 23rd.

Also on the agenda is Resolution 2026-08, which would authorize the city to apply for an Arkansas Community Grant to purchase a new generator for the fire department building along with air cylinders and turnout gear.

Under unfinished business, the council will receive an update on a property cleanup order at 427 McLean, with a court date set for March 4th, and will note that a property at 433 South Avenue subject to a separate cleanup order has since been sold.

The council will also set a public comment date regarding the possible closing of the alley between 160 Combs and 155 McLean.
