An Arkansas State Police trooper arrested a Kansas man wanted on attempted first-degree murder charges during a routine traffic stop south of Clinton Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 2 p.m. on February 24th, a trooper traveling northbound on Highway 65 observed a black Ford F-250 parked on the east shoulder just south of Jason Street. After several minutes, the vehicle pulled onto the highway and began traveling north. The trooper stopped the vehicle near the Clinton RV Park for a traffic violation.
The passenger, Joshua Pourciau, 29, of Winfield, Kansas, was found to have active nationwide felony warrants for attempted first-degree murder in connection with a December shooting in Winfield. He was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle turned up a backpack containing a loaded Ruger 9mm pistol with 15 rounds of live ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and illegal marijuana.
Pourciau was transported to the Van Buren County Detention Center and booked on charges of possession of a firearm by certain persons, charges related to the active attempted murder warrants, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing government operations.
