A Mountain Home woman facing charges of destroying washers, dryers, mirrors, signs and doing damage in a bathroom at a local laundry appeared during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division February 23.

Fifty-two-year-old Allison Paige Nix is alleged to have done an estimated $15,000 in damage to the business.
Mountain Home attorney Paul Bayless appeared for Nix and entered a not guilty plea to the charges against her.

Nix’s next appearance in court is set for May 11.

Mountain Home police officers responded to the laundry at about 5:30 p.m. February 5 and were told by witnesses that a white female, believed to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, had been responsible for the damage.
The woman left the business and a witness was able to get the license plate number from her vehicle which was checked back to Nix.

A review of video from surveillance cameras at the business helped to verify the person’s identity. A witness was reported to have also videotaped some of the incident on a cellphone.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Nix was located and arrested at the Mountain Home Inn based on unrelated complaints that she was allegedly running around the property nude and causing a general disturbance.
She is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center with bond set at almost $16,000.

Court records show a guardian was appointed for Nix in 2023 based on her mental condition and inability to take care of herself or to manage her affairs.

The guardianship was dismissed in 2024 after it was found Nix had been seeing her physician regularly and was felt to be functioning independently.
