Forecasters monitoring potential for severe weather Friday

Forecasters say the area will get a brief break from widespread storms today, though scattered rain chances remain throughout the day.

Most of the stronger rainfall is expected to stay limited, with any thunderstorms tonight likely developing farther south, closer to the Little Rock area.

Attention then turns to Friday, when the next round of severe weather is possible. KTLO News spoke with Carter Bentley, meterologist with the National Weather Service, who gives the details.

Looking ahead, another chance for severe weather could develop late next week, possibly Tuesday, though forecasters say it is still too early to determine the details of that system.
