Lead Hill’s season comes to an end; Bergman, Jasper still alive

Several area teams were in action in Arkansas high school state tournament play Wednesday, with a mix of wins and losses on both the boys and girls sides.

In Class 1A boys state tournament action, Jasper defeated Concord 50-43 to advance. Lead Hill fell to Crowley’s Ridge Academy 72-54.

In the Class 3A boys state tournament, Bergman cruised past McGehee 65-37. The Panthers advance to face Riverview today at 8:30.

On the girls side, Norfork defeated Scranton 45-26 to move on. The Lady Panthers will face Sacred Heart tonight at 7.

Viola also advanced, defeating County Line 51-41, and will play again Friday at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Jasper’s girls fell to West Side 64-37.
