Six Flags announced Thursday it plans to sell seven theme park properties, including Six Flags St. Louis, as part of a strategy to focus on parks with greater opportunities for growth.
The parks being sold to EPR Properties include:
Michigan’s Adventure (Grand Rapids, Michigan)
Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston (Galveston, Texas)
Six Flags Great Escape (Queensbury, New York)
Six Flags La Ronde (Montreal, Quebec)
Six Flags St. Louis (St. Louis, Missouri)
Valleyfair (Minneapolis, Minnesota)
Worlds of Fun (Kansas City, Missouri)
In a press release, Six Flags said the move will allow the company to strengthen the remaining parks in its portfolio and focus on those with the greatest potential for innovation, expansion and improved guest experiences.
Six Flags officials say the St. Louis park will continue operating normally through the 2026 season, and current season passes, memberships and multi-park passes will still be honored.
The company also noted that EPR Properties has experience with theme park operations, adding it is confident the parks will continue to operate successfully under the new ownership.
Any potential changes to the parks beginning in 2027 will be determined by the new owners.
