A Hardy woman is facing felony and misdemeanor charges following an investigation into an incident involving an unresponsive juvenile in January.
According to an affidavit from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Brandy Leonard is charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, a Class D felony, and knowingly furnishing or selling alcohol to a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.
The affidavit states that on Jan. 27, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unresponsive juvenile male in the 500 block of Riverglen Circle in Hardy. Authorities reported the juvenile was found hanging from a belt that was around a pole.
During the investigation, two juveniles including the victim told authorities that Leonard had provided alcohol, including Fireball whiskey, to minors at the residence. The affidavit states the juveniles consumed the alcohol and that Leonard later went to her room, leaving the minors with the intoxicants.
Leonard was arrested and later released after posting a $5,000 bond.
