Lady Bombers Advance to Final Four

The Mountain Home Lady Bombers were back in action in the 5A state tournament on Friday evening. In a matchup of two top five teams in class 5A, the Lady Bombers and Vilonia Eagles, the game looked like it would be over quickly as Mountain Home sprinted out of the gates taking an 18-6 lead. Mountain Home would continue their torrid pace outscoring the Eagles 15-2 in the second stanza to take a 33-8 lead into the halftime break. Vilonia would open the floodgates to get back into the game in the third quarter, outscoring Mountain Home 26-11 in the quarter to trim the lead to 44- 34. Vilonia would continue their fast pace and trim the lead to as close as 43-37 but would get no closer as Mountain Home would hit a slew of clutch free throws down the stretch to secure the 58-48 victory, and the 18th final four appearance in school history.Mountain Home was led in scoring by Livi Fosness with 23 points and 20 rebounds. Jayla Yonkers and Brooklynn Mitchell both added 13 points as well.

Mountain Home improves to 24-7 on the season and will take on Nettleton in the state semifinals on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
