
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a magnitude 2.4 earthquake Thursday night near the Arkansas-Missouri border.
The tremor occurred at 6:54 p.m. March 5. According to preliminary information from the USGS, the quake was centered about 1.7 miles east-southeast of Steele and roughly 12 miles north-northeast of Blytheville.
The preliminary report indicates the earthquake had a depth of 6.2 miles.
No additional information about damage or reports of the tremor being felt was included in the initial report.
