
Arkansas State UniversityMountain Home fell to Carl Albert State College 13-6 Saturday in Poteau.
Carl Albert State opened the scoring in the first inning with an RBI single and added to its lead in the third. The Vikings pushed across three more runs in the frame with the help of an ASUMH error along with a double and a pair of RBI singles.
Kaden Murray earned the win for Carl Albert State, allowing five hits and five runs three earned over seven innings while striking out four and walking six.
Keaton Matlick took the loss for ASUMH. The left-hander pitched three innings, allowing five runs three earned on seven hits while striking out five and walking one.
Gavin Stanger led ASUMH with two runs batted in from the eighth spot in the lineup, finishing 1-for-3 at the plate. Christian Loera recorded two hits in five at-bats, and Rylan Jones drew two walks as the Trailblazers collected seven walks in the game. ASUMH also turned three double plays defensively.
Carl Albert State totaled 14 hits and added pressure on the base paths with five stolen bases while also turning three double plays.
ASUMH continues its series with Carl Albert State with two games scheduled today and a final game set for Monday.
