Students from Mountain Home schools were recognized for their writing in this year’s Elks Americanism Essay Contest.

Mountain Home students in grades five through seven participated in the annual contest, which asked students to respond to the topic, “What does ‘service to your country’ mean to me”

Three district winners were selected and awarded checks during a recognition ceremony. The students were honored by Mountain Home Elks Lodge #1714 Exalted Ruler Roger Lumpkin along with Americanism Committee Co-Chairs Kim Swearingen and Vonya Schaufler.
