A Baxter County man has been arrested in Marion County after five children tested positive for THC. Facing ten felony charges is 36-year-old Michael Solon King of Gassville.

THC is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant and is responsible for the “high” sensation.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy took a report from King’s ex-wife in December saying she had heard from King’s current wife saying her two children had tested positive for THC. The woman then had her three children tested and all three were positive as well for THC.

Later that day, King’s current wife went to the sheriff’s office and met with a deputy, saying her children, ages one and two, had been exhibiting erratic behavior and that’s why she had them tested.

An order of protection was issued for both King’s current and ex-wife in November.

In an interview with law enforcement, King admitted he smokes marijuana.

King is facing five felony charges each of introduction of a controlled substance into the body of another person and first degree endangering the welfare of a minor. He is free after posting $25,000 bond.
