Stetson answered in the fourth inning, ending Arkansas starter Colin Fisher’s scoreless streak at 22 innings to begin the season. The Hatters used a leadoff home run and later added a three-run homer in the inning to take a 4-1 lead.
Stetson pitchers Trace Hartman and Andrew Lepine combined to hold Arkansas to one run for the remainder of the game.
Ruiz and Maika Niu each recorded two hits for Arkansas, while Ryder Helfrick drew two walks to extend his reached-base streak to 16 consecutive games.
In relief, Cole Gibler and Ethan McElvain combined for five scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
Arkansas and Stetson will wrap up their four-game series Monday with first pitch set for noon at Baum-Walker Stadium. The game will be streamed on SEC Network+.
