Several area baseball and softball teams were in action Tuesday, with a number of high-scoring games across the region.
In baseball, Viola outlasted Maynard in a 15-13 contest. Valley Springs edged Lamar 4-3, while Salem defeated Sloan-Hendrix 8-3.
Flippin picked up a dramatic extra-inning win over Norfork, 13-9. In the bottom of the 10th inning, Junior Brodrik Warnock delivered a walk-off grand slam to secure the victory. Yellville-Summit also earned a win, defeating Lead Hill 13-11.
In softball action, Mountain View shut out Marshall 15-0, while Melbourne defeated Flippin 18-7. Salem topped Cedar Ridge 5-1, and Norfork rolled past Ozark Mountain 19-0.
Yellville-Summit blanked Jasper 15-0, Cotter defeated Calico Rock 6-3, and Mountain Home secured a 9-5 victory over Harrison.
