ASU-Mountain Home Trailblazers fall to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M

The Arkansas State University–Mountain Home Trailblazers were defeated 14-6 by Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Tuesday in Miami, Oklahoma.

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M jumped out to an early lead, scoring in the bottom of the first inning on a solo home run before adding another run in the second on a double down the left-field line.

The hosts extended their advantage in the third inning with two more runs, one following an ASU-Mountain Home error and another on a sacrifice fly.

Ty Tilton started on the mound for the Trailblazers and allowed eight runs, six earned, on 10 hits over four innings while striking out one and walking three.

ASU-Mountain Home collected 11 hits in the game. Gavin Stanger led the Trailblazers with two runs batted in, finishing 1-for-4 at the plate. Ty Watkins and Ryder McClain each recorded two hits, while the Trailblazers also stole three bases and turned a double play.

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M finished with 14 hits and added a two-run home run in the seventh inning to help secure the win.

With the loss, ASU-Mountain Home falls to 1-19 on the season. The Trailblazers are scheduled to return to action Thursday against North Arkansas College.
