
Several area schools turned in strong performances at the Sr. Tyson Relays held March 12, with multiple teams earning top finishes and athletes posting standout individual results.
On the boys side, Flippin captured the team championship with 117 points. Yellville-Summit finished second with 106 points, followed closely by Harrison with 105. Green Forest placed fourth with 72 points, while Omaha finished fifth with 68.
Flippin picked up relay victories in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:47.31 and the 4×400-meter relay at 4:00.49. Rene Rascon also claimed first place in the boys 300-meter hurdles.
Yellville-Summit had several strong finishes, including second place in both the 4×200 and 4×800 relays. Eden Hardy highlighted the Panthers’ performances by winning the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet, 4 inches, a jump that also qualified him for the state meet. Hardy also placed third in the 1,600-meter run.
Harrison’s Killian Eddings captured first place in both the boys 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, while teammate Samuel Earnest won the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs.
In the girls competition, Bergman won the team title with 111 points. Harrison finished second with 79 points, followed by Green Forest with 68 and Omaha with 55. Berryville rounded out the top five with 52 points. Flippin finished sixth with 39 points, Eureka Springs placed seventh with 31, and Yellville-Summit finished eighth with 21.
Bergman earned victories in the girls 4×100 and 4×200 relays, while Green Forest’s Kaylyn Smith won the 200-meter dash and the triple jump.
Omaha’s Riley Hopson delivered one of the meet’s top individual performances, winning the 400 meters, the 300-meter hurdles, the 3,200-meter run and the long jump.
Other notable results included Berryville’s Chany Fairweather winning the girls high jump and Harrison’s Cayman Jones taking first in both the discus and shot put.
The meet featured athletes from multiple schools across the region competing in a full slate of running and field events.
