Salem First Baptist Church will host a one-day missions event called “Salem One Day” on Saturday.
The event will take place from 10 to 2 and will include several activities at the church as well as service projects throughout the community.
Events at the church facility will include a children’s block party, a “No Sale Yard Sale,” free haircuts and a free lunch for those attending.
Members of the church will also be serving throughout the community during the event. Planned projects include providing assistance at a local laundromat, helping with yard work around town, ministering at the local nursing home and working on a building project at the nursing home.
Organizers say the goal of the day is to serve the community and demonstrate care for others through acts of kindness and service.
