
The Mountain Home Lady Bombers, in front of 3,362 fans at Bank OZK Arena, competed in the Class 5A State Finals on Saturday. The Lady Bombers took on the 29-2 Farmington Cardinals. Farmington would defeat Mountain Home 74-39.
The night would begin with Mountain Home trading punches with the Cardinals as they would trail 18-13 after one quarter. Farmington would hold the Lady Bombers to only 6 points in the second quarter to propel themselves to a 38-19 lead at halftime. Farmington would stand on the gas pedal in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Lady Bombers by 17 to take a 67-31 lead into the final quarter and invoking the Arkansas Activities Association Sportsmanship rule. Mountain Home would outscore the Cardinals 8-7 in the final quarter and would drop the class 5A state finals 74-39.
Farmington’s Easton McCollough was named MVP of the game and led all scorers with 32 points.
Mountain Home was led in scoring by Jayla Yonkers with 11 points. Brooklynn Mitchell finished 10 points and Laken Anderson added 9 points of her own.
Mountain Home finishes the season 25-8.
