A fire destroyed a vacant Pizza Hut building Monday morning near the Target off Branson Hills Parkway.
Authorities say a person on their way to work reported the fire around 2:15 a.m.
Fire officials said strong winds fueled the blaze and sent embers flying hundreds of feet into the air, though no other nearby buildings were damaged.
Electricity was still active in the building at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the fire marshal.
No injuries were reported.
