
A residential fire early Friday morning caused heavy damage to a home on Old Tracy Road in Mountain Home.
According to the Mountain Home Fire Department, crews were dispatched around 2:00 on Friday morning to a residence on Old Tracy Road. The homeowner reported waking up and seeing flames near the front window before exiting the home and calling 911.
The first arriving firefighters reported a single-story home with about 50 percent of the structure involved in flames, along with two vehicles that were fully engulfed.
Mountain Home firefighters responded with an engine, tanker and five support vehicles. Additional assistance came from Tanker 5 and four neighboring departments, including Tracy Ferry, Northeast Lakeside, Bull Shoals and Salesville fire departments.
Firefighters remained on scene for about 4½ hours while battling the blaze and used approximately 15,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.
The fire caused an estimated 75 percent fire damage and 100 percent smoke damage to the home. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
