Fourth-ranked Arkansas scored early and often on its way to a 13-2 run-rule victory over Northern Colorado Tuesday night at Baum-Walker Stadium.
The Razorbacks (15-6) bounced back after allowing two runs in the first inning, responding with 13 runs on 12 hits and drawing a season-high 14 walks.
Damian Ruiz sparked the offense with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first, while Maika Niu added an RBI groundout later in the inning to tie the game. Arkansas took the lead for good in the second on a run-scoring wild pitch and never looked back.
Ryder Helfrick led the way at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a two-RBI double, three walks and a stolen base. Ruiz, Camden Kozeal and TJ Pompey each added multi-hit performances, with Kozeal driving in four runs and Pompey collecting three hits, including a home run.
After a shaky first inning, starter Mark Brissey settled in before handing things off to the bullpen. Arkansas relievers combined for six shutout innings with 10 strikeouts to keep Northern Colorado off the board the rest of the way.
The Razorbacks sealed the run-rule victory with four runs in both the seventh and eighth innings.
With the win, Arkansas improved to 4-1 in midweek games this season and will wrap up its series with Northern Colorado Wednesday at 3 on SEC Network+.
