A multi-agency fugitive enforcement operation in Northeast Arkansas led to dozens of arrests and cleared warrants over a five-day span earlier this month.
In coordination with federal, state and local partners, the United States Marshals Service Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force conducted “Operation Steel Resolve” from March 9 through March 13.
The initiative resulted in 24 fugitives arrested and 66 warrants cleared, according to officials.
Authorities said the operation focused on identifying and apprehending violent offenders and high-risk fugitives with outstanding warrants. Those warrants included a number of serious charges:
6 homicide-related offenses
23 aggravated assault and battery charges
2 sexual assault charges
7 firearm-related offenses
6 drug-related offenses
22 additional felony and misdemeanor charges
Acting United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Arkansas Cory Harris said the results highlight the coordinated effort among agencies.
“These results reflect the unwavering commitment of our task force and partner agencies to pursue those who pose the greatest threat to our communities,” Harris said.
Officials added operations like Steel Resolve are designed to send a clear message to violent offenders that law enforcement will continue to actively pursue and apprehend those with outstanding warrants.
“Operations like Steel Resolve send a clear messageviolent offenders will be found and brought to justice,” Harris said.
