President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Memphis Monday to highlight the work of the Memphis Safe Task Force, according to the White House.

A spokesperson said the visit will focus on what officials describe as coordinated federal and state efforts to reduce crime in the city. Since operations began in September 2025, the task force has made more than 7,200 arrests and seized over 1,100 firearms.

The Memphis Safe Task Force includes the Tennessee National Guard along with multiple federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration. National Guard troops began patrolling Memphis in October, with hundreds of members deployed daily earlier this year.

Officials say the operation targets crime reduction, though it has also included immigration enforcement actions. Reports indicate nearly 2,000 people have been detained for immigration-related reasons since the initiative began.
