
The Mountain Home City Council will hold its regular meeting Thursday at 5, in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, located at 720 Hickory Street.
Under old business, council members will consider the second reading of an ordinance addressing zoning within the city. The measure would establish permitted uses for various zones, adopt an updated zoning map and repeal any conflicting ordinances. The item is being presented by Clay Strain and Arnold Knox.
Several items are scheduled under new business, including an ordinance to expand and redefine the city’s job classification and compensation plan, presented by Sue Edwards.
The council will also consider multiple resolutions involving the city’s water and sewer department. One resolution would waive competitive bidding to allow the purchase of a 2019 Mack Anthem semi-truck from Bruckner Truck Sales of Lowell for $69,900. Another would authorize a lease agreement with River City Hydraulics of Sherwood, along with a financing agreement with Arvest Bank of Bentonville, for a Model 900 ECO combination sewer cleaner mounted on a Freightliner chassis. Both items are presented by Steve Hill.
Also on the agenda is approval of an amendment to the Garver Engineering contract for wastewater treatment plant construction services, as well as a resolution authorizing the city to enter into an economic development contract, presented by Hillrey Adams.
Adams is also scheduled to deliver the State of the City address during the meeting.
The meeting is open to the public and will conclude with comments before adjournment.
