
The Mountain Home Bomber baseball team stayed unbeaten in 5A-West play Thursday night with a 9-3 win over Van Buren, the only other previously undefeated team in conference action.
Mountain Home outhit the Pointers 9-3 and committed just two errors, compared to four by Van Buren.
Koen Bickford led the way on the mound for the Bombers, working 6 2/3 innings before reaching the Arkansas Activities Association pitch count limit. Braxton Blagg recorded the final out, needing just one pitch to secure the victory.
Offensively, Brody Brown paced Mountain Home with two hits and three RBIs. Bickford and Carter Adkins added two hits each, while Drew Haney, Will Rauls and Blagg collected one hit apiece. Jax Wescoat reached base three times in the win.
With the victory, Mountain Home improves to 4-0 in conference play and moves into sole possession of first place in the 5A-West standings heading into spring break.
The Bombers return to action Friday and Saturday as they compete in the Ozark Baseball Classic.
