Cotter School Board reorganizes, approves calendar and contracts

The Cotter Public Schools Board of Education met Thursday and approved a series of items, including board reorganization, the 2026-27 school calendar and multiple contracts.

During reorganization, Allen Franks was unanimously approved as board president. Cameron Ross was selected as vice president, Jimmy Morgan as secretary and Franks was also named disbursing officer.

Superintendent Jones and district administrators presented several updates, including progress on the Cotter Virtual Academy. Virtual Academy Director Keri Raycraft provided an update on the “At the River” curriculum, which was later approved by the board.

The board also approved the 2026-27 school calendar and the certified personnel salary schedule for the upcoming school year.

Additional approvals included beginning the bid process for grounds care and snow removal, with bids set to be opened at the April meeting.

Board members approved therapy service contracts for the 2026-27 school year, including agreements with Martin School-Based Therapy, as well as a memorandum of understanding with Absolute Janitorial Services.

The board also approved certified contract renewals, school choice requests and a student transfer petition.

Superintendent Jones reported district enrollment at 658 students, including 363 in elementary and 295 in high school.

The meeting adjourned at 10:20.
