Early voting for BC Sheriff runoff starts Tuesday

Baxter County voters will return to the polls for early voting starting Tuesday to decide two remaining races in the Republican Preferential Primary runoff election, with all eyes on who will be elected the first new sheriff in over two decades.Voters will decide between the two candidates who garnered the most votes in the March 3 Primary, Brian Davis and Mark Hollingsworth. The winner of the runoff will move forward as the Republican nominee which is unopposed for the November election.

The other contest on the runoff ballot is the statewide Republican primary for Arkansas Secretary of State between Bryan Norris and State Sen. Kim Hammer.

Early voting for the runoff will take place at First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home, located at 605 West Sixth Street.

Voting will be open Tuesday through Friday through from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Early voting will also be held Monday, March 30, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, March 31. Polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. across Baxter County.

Vote centers will be located at the Baxter County Training Center in Midway, Big Flat City Hall, East Side Baptist Church in Mountain Home, First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home, Henderson Fire Station, Lakeview Civic Center, Lone Rock Baptist Church in Norfork, Norfork First Baptist Church, Northeast Lakeside Fire Station, Salesville City Hall and The Good Shepherd Methodist Church in Cotter.

Unofficial election results will be compiled and released beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Baxter County Courthouse. KTLO News will broadcast live results that evening on KTLO FM 97.9 and stream live on KTLOStreaming on YouTube and the Facebook page for KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot.
