Hazmat crews will be in Izard County Monday to clean up spilled fuel from an overturned tanker following an accident that occurred last Wednesday.

Izard County Sheriff Charley Melton tells KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News the accident happened on Arkansas State Highway 58 in Guion about half a mile from the White River when a wrecker was pulling a semi that had a tanker trailer. They all turned over which blocked the highway for numerous hours and resulted in fuel being spilled from the tanker.

On Monday, the hazmat crews will begin working at 10:00 and are expected to be working until at least 4:00. Motorists traveling Highway 58 in the Guion area should use caution, expect delays and allow extra time for their commute.
