No. 9 Arkansas capped off a series sweep of UConn with a 9-4 victory Sunday at Bogle Park, powered by a big performance from Kailey Wyckoff.
Wyckoff drove in five runs, including a go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning that broke a 4-4 tie and put the Razorbacks in control for good.
Arkansas (27-4) jumped out early before UConn answered to take a brief lead. The Razorbacks regained momentum with a two-run double from Brinli Bain in the second and an RBI double from Wyckoff in the fifth.
After UConn tied the game in the sixth, Dakota Kennedy drew a bases-loaded walk to give Arkansas the lead before Wyckoff’s grand slam sealed the win.
Wyckoff finished 2-for-3 at the plate with five RBI, while Reagan Johnson set the tone at the top of the lineup with three stolen bases, two walks and three runs scored.
In the circle, Reis Beuerlein allowed two unearned runs over four innings in her first start of the season, while Saylor Timmerman earned the win in relief.
