An Ozark County man has been arrested for the rape of a minor female family member. Chevy Logan Mahan of Brixey was booked into the Ozark County Jail Thursday on one count of rape.
The incident happened Nov. 25, 2023 but the case was just filed by the prosecuting attorney on Wednesday.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, the victim says the rape occurred while she was sleeping on the floor of Mahan’s bedroom floor.
During interviews with other occupants of the house, it was learned the victim had spent the night after a family gathering.
The victim was taken to Ozarks Health in West Plains for an examination and was later interviewed at a child advocacy center.
Mahan is being held without bond pending his first court appearance.
