Polk County inmate escapes detention center, manhunt underway

Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Polk County Detention Center Sunday afternoon.

Sheriff Scott Sawyer said 38-year-old Levi Poor, escaped around 12:45 p.m. and was last seen on foot before allegedly stealing a red 2011 Ford Ranger extended cab.

Poor is described as a white male with blue eyes and brown hair, standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 200 pounds.

He was most recently booked on charges of third-degree domestic battering and failure to appear. Officials say Poor also has an active warrant in Oklahoma for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Law enforcement is urging the public to report any information on Poor’s whereabouts to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 479-394-2511.
