No. 4 Arkansas broke open a tight game with a 10-run fifth inning and cruised to a 15-2 run-rule win over UCA Tuesday night at Baum-Walker Stadium.
The Razorbacks (19-7) trailed 2-1 through four innings before sending 10 straight batters to the plate in the fifth and scoring all 10 runs before recording an out.
TJ Pompey led the offensive explosion, going 2-for-2 with two home runs, including a grand slam, five RBI and three runs scored. Carter Rutenbar added a two-hit, four-RBI performance with his first career home run, while Maika Niu and Camden Kozeal also collected multiple hits.
Arkansas added four more runs in the sixth to extend the lead to 15-2 and end the game early in the seventh.
Parker Coil earned the win with three innings of one-run relief, while Peyton Lee allowed one run over two innings in the start. Mark Brissey and Tye Briscoe each worked scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
With the win, Arkansas improved to 6-1 in midweek games this season and will return to SEC play this weekend with a home series against Florida beginning Friday.
