Arkansas softball run-rules UCA behind McDowell’s two homers

No. 9/10 Arkansas picked up its 19th run-rule win of the season Tuesday night, defeating Central Arkansas 11-2 in six innings.

Ella McDowell led the Razorbacks with a pair of solo home runs, going 2-for-4 at the plate. Dakota Kennedy added a two-run homer as part of a 2-for-2 performance that also included a double and two walks.

Arkansas broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning and added four more in the sixth to secure the run-rule victory.

Tianna Bell and Atalyia Rijo each had three hits in the win, with Rijo driving in three runs.

In the circle, Saylor Timmerman earned the win to improve to 6-0, allowing two runs over four innings. Payton Burnham tossed two scoreless innings in relief to close out the game.

With the win, Arkansas improved to 28-4 on the season, while UCA fell to 21-13.
