Former Rep. Stan Berry honored with flags at half-staff

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has ordered flags across Arkansas to be flown at half-staff in honor of former State Representative Stan Berry, who died March 23 at the age of 73.Berry served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2023 to 2026, representing District 44. He previously represented District 70 from 2002 to 2008 and later District 68 after being elected again in 2018. Following redistricting in 2023, Berry began serving District 44.

During his legislative tenure, Berry served on the House Public Transportation Committee, the House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee and the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee.

A graduate of Arkansas Tech University, Berry also served in the National Guard and held several local leadership roles, including positions on the Dover School Board, Dover City Council and the Tri-County Water Commission.

According to the governor’s order, flags will be flown at half-staff from March 25 until sunset on the day of Berry’s interment in recognition of his years of public service to the state.
