Baxter County sales tax revenue continues to rise

Sales tax revenue in Baxter County continues to show strong growth, according to the latest report from the county treasurer’s office.Deputy Treasurer Misty Teague said the county’s portion of sales tax collections is up 6.4% compared to the same month last year, an increase of $28,356.50. The jail’s portion also rose 6.4%, up $12,447.

Year-to-date figures show continued gains, with the county’s portion up 6.6%, or $97,665, while the jail’s portion has increased 6.6%, or $42,870.

Projected revenues are also trending upward, with the county portion up 1.7% year-to-date, or $26,907, and the jail portion up 2.2%, or $14,691.
