Residents across Arkansas are getting help reducing their energy bills through an Entergy Arkansas program focused on improving home efficiency, often at little to no cost.
Energy Efficiency Manager Denise Jeter said crews are working directly in neighborhoods to connect with customers and explain available services.
“We’re out in the neighborhood talking with our customers about our energy efficiency programs,” Jeter said. “We want them to know how they can lower their energy use and make their bills more affordable.”
The program offers services such as weatherization, duct sealing, air sealing and HVAC improvements. Technicians can also perform blower door tests to identify air leaks and improve a home’s overall efficiency.
Many of the upgrades are free or low-cost, particularly for customers who qualify for income-based assistance programs.
“It’s very important as we head into the high bill season of summer to make sure your equipment is working properly and efficiently,” Jeter said.
For Pine Bluff resident Gail Brown, the program made an immediate impact. After months of dealing with a malfunctioning air conditioning unit, she said help came when a contractor knocked on her door.
“My AC wasn’t working, and it was frustrating and uncomfortable,” Brown said. “Now I can relax.”
Brown said the service restored her unit at no cost.
“I just got this for free, and I’m so glad,” she said. “I feel great now.”
Entergy officials say crews will continue canvassing neighborhoods across the state as part of the Entergy Solutions initiative.
